The Waterworks
2009 April 1
Yesterday evening was so nice that after work i donned a pair of shorts, grabbed my camera, and set out for the Waterworks. Probably one of the most beautiful structures in the city, it was built in 1820s to pump water from the river up to the resevoir above (The Philadelphia Museum of Art sits atop the hill where the resevoir was located). Now a restaurant and museum, the Waterworks is a popular tourist attraction and resting point along the Schuykill Banks Trail.
