This past weekend, I was browsing the stacks at Barnes & Noble and discovered a thin volume by George Orwell titled, “Why I Write.”  I was drawn by the cover, a throwback to earlier Penguin paperbacks with its distinct two-tone design.  The cover is letterpressed thick card stock (another fascination for another day) with substantial weight paper and a well-sized easy-to-read serif font; all in a 7″x4.5″ format that slips into a jacket pocket.

Why I WriteWhat a joy to discover that this volume is only one volume of a three series set!  The British website is equally well designed as the covers, the link is on the right under the media blogroll.  Altough the volumes are small, they are the perfect size to brush up on an author or just become introduced to the essentials.  Now I have another collection…
