The Great Gatsby
2009 March 13
I recently watched the film adaptation of The Great Gatsby for the first time and was quite impressed by the men’s costuming (by Ralph Lauren). Many of the pieces/outfits are probably still on display in his stores, granted the lapels are narrower and the shirts do not sport such severe forward point collars. Note the collar pins, club collars, and madder ties in many of the scenes- where these popular in the seventies, or was this Ralph attempting historical accuracy? Its a shame no one sells cream flannels anymore. Enjoy.

oh boy, the always unforgettable JAY gasby
Brandon great stills from the movie. Nick Carroway buzzing along Long Island sound in the evening in his cream suit is priceless. Thanks for your support with The Simple Connoisseur by the way. Great site yourself!
